Guinea:

If Guinea weren't such a poor country there would probably be more travellers, but at present there isn't much infrastructure to support the tourist trade. Travellers who don't mind roughing it will find a small country on the far west coast of Africa that has a lot to offer: beaches, scenery and culture. Naturally, the forests are being chopped down, and this is the biggest environmental problem. Guineans are for the most part poor, uneducated and at risk of dying of tropical diseases, as the education and health systems are very basic. A rich class of people in the city run the businesses. But Conakry, the capital, is rundown and basic. Touts who offer to be your friend in Guinea unfortunately often turn into scam artists and thieves.
