Gabon:

Gabon is a small country on the west coast of Africa, and it's become relatively well off because of its oil deposits. More Gabonese live in cities than is the case in other African countries. There is a significant middle class, education has improved, and the government has invested in a good health service. For more than 20 years Omar Bongo has been the president, re-elected in suspicious elections in 1993. But there have been no wars or ethnic strife; this can partly be attributed to the relatively good standard of living in Gabon.

Gabon also has an untouched rainforest, though of course economic interests in the timber industry might end up chopping it down. Libreville, the capital city on the Atlantic, has a lot of hotels for visiting business people, but tourists don't venture into Gabon very much. There are no good beaches, so adventure travellers would be lured to explore the rainforest.
