Cyprus:

Cyprus is a divided island in the eastern Mediterranean. One half is occupied by the Greek Christians, and the other half is occupied by the Muslim Turks. (Some Turks live on the Greek side, and some Greeks live on the Turkish side.) The dividing line runs right through the centre of the capital city, Nicosia, and U.N. troops dissuade the two solitudes from re-engaging in war and slaughtering each other.

Meanwhile, tourism has become a going concern, and there are resorts on the coast. As well, a new national park on the Akamas Peninsula is home to a wide variety of plants, birds and rare green turtles. Ecotourists are starting to travel to this park, staying in restored village houses. The living standard in Cyprus is good, with free healthcare and education, a low crime rate, and the possibility of making a good income. In fact, Greek Cypriots enjoy a better living standard than mainland Greeks.
