Belorussia:
This former Russian satellite is unfortunately located north of Ukraine. Unfortunately, because the Chernobyl meltdown has had a profound effect on the health of Belorussians. Many areas of the country are severely contaminated, and agriculture is the main industry. The south of the country--consisting of the vast Pripet Marshes and the Dnieper lowlands--is sparsely populated. Most tourists just pass through Belorussia on the way to Russia from Poland. Belorussia has maintained close ties with Russia, since most of the people are Russian or Russian speaking.
