Bahrain:
Bahrain, consisting of 33 islands between the Quatar Peninsula and Saudi Arabia, is the most liberal of the Arab Gulf states. It's become somewhat of a secular mecca for tourists from the other states who drive over there on the causeway for the bars and nightlife. Sunni Muslims hold the best jobs in business and the bureaucracy, while Shi'a Muslims mainly do the menial jobs. The Amir rules this tiny country, and has diversified the economy since the oil reserves went dry. Health, education, and media are advanced for the area, and crime is minimal.
